Status:
In this phase, more widespread awareness of PBS spreads across the organization. The PBS Leadership Team and executive leadership understand PBS and communicates with staff on the next steps. Your PBS Leadership Team is in its middle stages of developing the PBS Action Plan, which includes developing sub plans for all major PBS activities. Some degree of PBS may be occurring in parts of the organization, but it is not yet expected to be an organization-wide practice. It may be easier to implement PBS in settings with less frequent change (for example residential settings have less change in routine vs day programs). Communication and training plans are under development.
Strategies:
- Develop a process for the selection of standard evidence-based supports and interventions.
- Select standard, evidence-based supports and interventions for Universal Supports, at minimum.
- Develop a review and approval process for additional evidence-based supports and interventions.
- Start to design and develop a PBS quality and data management system to monitor and evaluate the:
- Implementation of your PBS Action Plan.
- Treatment fidelity across all support tiers.
- Effectiveness of PBS supports and interventions.
- Collect PBS baseline data, including individual-, tier-, program-, and organizational-level data.
- Prepare your workforce and service population for upcoming, organizational changes.
